A Church supporting Aldbrough and the surrounding area
The Church
We believe the church is not a building, but a people — a diverse community of believers from every walk of life, every background, and every story. We are united not by place, but by a shared faith and a common purpose, centred on one person: Jesus Christ.
(1 Corinthians 12:12–13; Ephesians 2:19–22; Revelation 7:9)
Holy Spirit
We also believe that today the church is filled and led by the Holy Spirit, who guides, strengthens, and equips us to live out our faith together.
(John 14:16–17; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:14; Galatians 5:22–25)
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Good News. He is the baby in the manger, God with us (Luke 2:10–11; Matthew 1:23). He is the man on the cross, who gave His life for us (Mark 15:24–25; Romans 5:8). He is the body in the tomb, bearing the weight of sin and death (Matthew 27:59–60; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4). He is the risen Saviour, victorious over the grave (Matthew 28:5–6; Luke 24:6–7). And He is the King on the throne, reigning in power, grace, and love today (Acts 2:32–36; Philippians 2:9–11; Revelation 19:16).
We are a small but enthusiastic community of believers whose lives have been deeply transformed by the living Christ.
For many of us, faith in Jesus is something we discovered in adult life — a journey that has brought new purpose, hope, and direction.
When We Meet
We gather together on Sunday mornings for a united service, where we worship, learn, and grow as a church family.
During the week, we meet in smaller home groups on Tuesday or Friday. These are relaxed and welcoming spaces where we build friendships, share life, and explore faith more personally.
Holderness Community Church (Now HCCCF) dates back to the early 1980s, with a desire to be a faithful, Christ-centred community in every generation.
We hold to the teachings and practices established by Jesus Himself and His earliest followers nearly two thousand years ago — our faith is rooted, enduring, and far from a passing trend.
Over the years, we have met in a variety of rented venues rather than a permanent building. This has enabled us to save significant resources, which we have been able to invest into supporting many good causes and serving our wider community.
Mike Hubbard is a retired teacher, married to Vivienne, also a retired teacher, and living in Hornsea
Martin Senior has been a Christian since 1999 and has served HCC as a leader since 2001. Martin and Beryl married in 2013 and live in Aldbrough and are both retired but are still active in sharing the good news of Jesus in the area.
